My Eyebrow Routine♡

My Eyebrow Routine!
---------------------------------------------
In collaboration with Into The Gloss♡,
I wanted to share my own take on brow trends with people across the globe!

How To Maintain The Shape
I personally like thick, bold brows, straight but slightly arched.
Examples include brows like Audrey Hepburn or Lily Collins :)
Many South Korean celebrities also have the shape of brows I prefer on myself.

♡ Firstly, if I notice my brow hairs getting too long, I will use a spoolie to brush
them up. Then I will trim off the extra parts peeking out of my brow shape.
I would tweeze out any excess hair in the surrounding area of my brow shape.

♡ Second. I like to fill in my brows by basically shading/drawing them in.
I find this very therapeutic, like drawing :)

♡ Finally. I will brush it out slightly with a spoolie to even out the colour.
What I Use
I like using pencils or tinted markers. I have yet to try pomades (really would like to try).
I usually pick up items that seem convenient and easy to use. I like to be the one to control
the shape of my brows, but the product should make it easy to do so.

(products in photo below are in order)
☆ Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil (dark brown/black brown)
☆ Sante Brow Pencil (No.2 Brown)
☆ Innisfree Tinted Dual Brow Marker (Espresso Brown)
☆ spoolie, brow scissors, tweezers (for those extra hairs)

I'm looking for better organic alternatives, but these are the ones I have been using.
Purpose
I do my brows to look more polished. There are days where I will be very light handed,
while other days, I would make a statement with my brows. It depends on the occasion
and most importantly, my mood :) I used the Etude House pencil in the photo below.
I used to have very thick, bushy eyebrows, which I didn't like at all.
I like how my natural brows are now, even without makeup.
It's natural looking, but definitely not over-tweezed.

Tips
For beginners, I would recommend a pencil or even a powder.
It will be easier to control and fix mistakes.

Tinted markers are still quite new to a lot of people and it requires
patience and perfection! It's hard to fix mistakes, because it adheres
quite quickly/dries quickly.

Check out my Instagram to see more of my brows! haha :)

♡ Current Winter Favourites ♡

Long time no see! :p Sorry, I've been busy with work and
haven't had much time or patience to blog. I'm supposed
to be working at this very moment, but I felt like blogging ><

It's legit winter here >< -5 degrees celcius, which feels like -15!

I've been into headbands recently... not sure why but they
keep my hair in place when it's windy outside. I can't wear
them for long periods of time though, because my head starts hurting.
I bought these lovely headbands from Claire's :p
 and some beauty favourites :)

The Weleda Almond facial lotion is great for this time of the year.
I also love my Etude House Jelly lipstick :) It's actually quite moisturizing.
I love the warm nutty vanilla scent during the cold months and the
Vanille Noire is currently my favourite from Yves Rocher :p

and this is my current nail design! :)
with Shellac's 'Indigo Frock' on the tip, layered with
'Zillionaire' (glitter). Then I stamped on some Konad designs :)
Hope you're all enjoying your week :)

Disappointing Products

Since I'm not feeling so great at the moment, this will be the time to make this post! lol

These are products that haven't worked for me, but they may work for you.
BUT I will explain why they didn't work for me, etc.

Starting from the top left (clockwise):

Etude House Makeup Sponge
This sponge is not as soft as I had imagined... it's actually quite stiff and reminds me of
those wedge sponges you get at the Dollar store. I tried to spray it with water to dampen
it, as well as soaking and wringing out the water with the whole sponge. Neither way
worked with how I wanted for applying my foundation. It was kind of stiff and didn't have
enough of that 'bounce' you want from a makeup sponge. I found that the wedge sponges
from Quo worked so much better than this.

The Face Shop Cherry Blossom Hair Mist
Okay, this is my fault. I don't even know why I bought this because I'm not into fragrances
and why would I need a hair mist... I don't know >< It's one of those products where you
just kind of pick up even though you don't need it at all. I like the scent from the opening of
the spray but it's kind of strong once you spray it. It's supposed to help with the sebum at
the roots of your hair, but I didn't find that it did anything at all.

Vichy Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Concealing stick
I have light skin, so this didn't work for me because the concealer is a bit orange. It might
work with people who have medium skin, or if you have a bit of a tan. It's creamy enough
to blend with your fingers though, so can come in handy, but since this is the only shade they
had for this particular product, I think it's a fail >>

Quo Heated Eyelash Curler
So, I've always wanted to try the Panasonic heated eyelash curlers, so when I saw this at
Shoppers Drug Mart, I was like oh cool. This doesn't work at all. It feels nice against your
lashes because it warms up, but it literally did nothing but warm up my eyelashes.

iHerb and Etude House

New skincare products to try out!
☆ Badger's Damascus Rose Antioxidant Face Oil
☆ Avalon Organics Vitamin C Renewal Serum
I want to see how this serum compares to the Mad Hippie serum :)

☆ Etude House Proof 10 Auto Pencil in Ash Brown
The ingredients list isn't looking so bad!
No Parabens, Paraffins, or Phthalates on the list!
There is Carmine at the end of the list though ><
I try to avoid Carmine, but I didn't know...

I also bought another can of Pumpkin Pie Mix,
so that I can make breakfast muffins :p

A simple outfit of the day :) Top from H&M and skirt from Zipia.net :)

Impulse Purchases

I'm quite random when it comes to shopping on eBay.
When I saw these similar donut Scotch tape dispensers in a
Korean drama, I IMMEDIATELY searched them up on eBay ><
I clearly have an obsession/addiction and it may or may not need to be
fixed >> They are so adorable and pretty much useless >>
but hey, I can bust these out when I am wrapping gifts and will look
super cute during Christmas time! and you know you love them :p

I am IN LOVE with the Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint.
IN LOVE! the texture is very different, I can't describe it...
it's smooth like a jelly but goes on the lips effortlessly.
They also give off a cooling sensation and smell lovely!

I'm not a huge fan of the scent I bought from Theme Fragrance
though >< Petite Bicyclette has too much lemon and slight bitterness.
I received a sample of their Seashell fragrance and much prefer that
pink grapefruit scent, as opposed to the in-your-face lemon.

Quick outfit post! We had a huge snowstorm last night, but it was
bright and sunny today. I went out with a couple of friends for lunch
and we went to see Silver Linings Playbook. A slow movie, acting
was pretty good, predictable, nice ending, and probably would not
have chosen to see this movie in a theatre myself ><

It's one of those movies you watch on television at home.

Pink Powder Acne Treatments!

I have been using the Mario Badescu Drying lotion for the past year
and a half? It has been working wonderfully for me, but I don't really
want to pay $20 for a small bottle with shipping on their official website.
I started searching for products with the same ingredients and found 3.

Here is a list of the different pink powder acne treatments:
01. AC Clinic powder spot treatment ($14)
The seller from eBay gave me a whole mini set instead of just the pink
powder spot treatment  ._. I wasn't expecting that at all. It came with a
small sample jar of a post acne brightening balm and cotton swabs! :)
02. Mario Badescu Drying Lotion ($17)
03. Dr. Looretta Good Nightspot treatment ($18)
04. Clinicians Complex Acne drying lotion ($33)

They all contain the following ingredients:
Isopropyl Alcohol, Water, Camphor, Sulfur, Salicylic Acid,
Zinc Oxide, and Iron Oxides

The AC Clinic is the only one that contains extra ingredients like:
Hinoki Cypress Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Perilla Ocymoides
Seed Extract, Ampelopsis Japonica Root Extract, Carica Papaya Fruit Extract,
Allium Cepa (onion) Bulb Extract, and fragrance

My personal routine/experience:
I use the treatment only before going to bed.
When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is use a very hot,
wet towel to remove the powdered spots on my face, then I use an oxygen
peeling gel to exfolite the areas I used the acne treatment. If I don't exfoliate,
my skin becomes very flaky and dry = impossible to wear makeup without
looking like a flaking zombie =p

Lipstick Collection

Yes, I only have 3 lipsticks lol. They are in order from old-recently purchased.

I'm not a huge lipstick person because I have dry lips and prefer lip balms/tints.

Left-Right:
- Etude House VIP Girl in OR205
- Maybelline Moisture Extreme in A34 Born With It
- Revlon Super Lustrous in 631 Luminous Pink (pearl)

Etude House
It has super cute packaging as always =p and I love the peachy orange shade, unfortunately it's very drying and settles into fine lines. It smells amazing but doesn't feel so great when applying... kind of chalky and dry.

Maybelline
The packaging is kind of boring and not very pretty but the lipstick itself is super moisturizing and creamy o.o unfortunately the colour I chose was very similar to my natural lip colour and I wanted more of a pink. They don't have a lot of shades to choose from but most of them are very pigmented.

Revlon
I love the colour, it's a light pink with silver shimmers. It's not super pigmented but not sheer, it gives off a nice sheen. It is a bit drying for the winter but will look great with glosses.
