♡ Current Winter Favourites ♡

Long time no see! :p Sorry, I've been busy with work and
haven't had much time or patience to blog. I'm supposed
to be working at this very moment, but I felt like blogging ><

It's legit winter here >< -5 degrees celcius, which feels like -15!

I've been into headbands recently... not sure why but they
keep my hair in place when it's windy outside. I can't wear
them for long periods of time though, because my head starts hurting.
I bought these lovely headbands from Claire's :p
 and some beauty favourites :)

The Weleda Almond facial lotion is great for this time of the year.
I also love my Etude House Jelly lipstick :) It's actually quite moisturizing.
I love the warm nutty vanilla scent during the cold months and the
Vanille Noire is currently my favourite from Yves Rocher :p

and this is my current nail design! :)
with Shellac's 'Indigo Frock' on the tip, layered with
'Zillionaire' (glitter). Then I stamped on some Konad designs :)
Hope you're all enjoying your week :)

Casper ♡ Own Your Bed Head

I'm pretty low maintenance when it comes to my hair.
I brush it twice a day... try to wash it every two days.

My roots get oily quickly, I'm usually good for one day.
When I wake up on my second day hair, it becomes extremely flat.
I have been trying out a ton of different dry shampoos within' the
past couple/few years. My current favourite is the Acure Dry Shampoo.
You can find it at Whole Foods or on iHerb.com :)

My hair is usually slightly tangled up when I wake up.
I use all natural haircare products. My hairdresser has noticed a
difference in the texture of my hair, ever since I made the change
over 5 years ago. I take my skincare/beauty products pretty seriously :p

I am currently using/switching between Jason's Tea Tree Scalp
Jason's Smoothing Sea Kelp Conditioner, and Live Clean's Invigorating Conditioner.

In the Winter, my hair gets extremely frizzy, but I haven't found anything
to solve that issue. The conditioner I use, does help to smooth things out.

☆ Drying your hair tips ☆
(Tips from my hairdresser)
➣ Never wring out the water from your hair
➣ Twisting your hair, while it's still wet will damage your strands

INSTEAD
➣ Pat your hair dry with a towel

When my hair is still damp before I go to bed, I just lift up my hair
onto my pillow, so that I'm not sleeping on it. This helps it air dry
evenly when you wake up, creating less tangles.

I like to flip my hair and brush it upside down to get a bit of volume :p

I wish I had beautiful hair like Wonder Woman lol

I've been contacted by Casper to blog about tips on combating messy morning hair! :)

Principessa Dry Shampoo for Darker Shades

I was very curious to see how this dry shampoo would work for darker hair.
Let's just say... I had a bad first experience ><

So, the holes you see below, cannot be rotated to get smaller holes or even a small section.
I usually just pour a little bit onto my hair, near the roots. For this dry shampoo, you can
actually feel a cooling sensation once it touches your scalp. So clearly, I either put too much
or it isn't supposed to go directly to your scalp, but my hair became quite powdery ><

It also left a slightly light brown cast on the top of my head. As I was in a hurry to go to class,
I checked in the mirror once again - still powdery/chalky looking. I decided to spray on some
grape water onto the top of my head and comb it out. It looked fine, until about 10 minutes later,
I checked my hair again before I left the house, and it left my hair looking even worse. I had
white specks of powder on the surface of my hair and I was freaking out. I seriously did not want
to leave the house looking like the way I did lol >< It even left a brown stain on my scalp ><

BUT this dry shampoo does indeed absorb oil - very well actually and has a nice light scent.
I would just avoid pouring anything from the container itself. Pour some onto your hands,
then work it into the roots of your hair.

Positive Notes
☆ Absorbs oil, keeps your hair looking grease-free all day
☆ Light scent, if lightly used
☆ Darker shade to suit darker hair

Negative Notes
☆ Can leave a light brown cast, if there is too much powder
☆ Leaves a brown stain on the scalp, if being poured directly from the container
☆ The scent might not smell as nice, if you pour too much
☆ Difficult to find (I bought mine at spaboutique.ca)

Would I buy it again?
Honestly, no... because the tint leaves a stain and you have to be careful.
I'd rather use a white powder that absorbs quickly without leaving any stain.
It works very well, but I like to be low maintenance lol :p
I am personally liking the dry shampoo from Acure Organics.

100% Pure makeup & Orgnx!

I recently had to order a new toner and I have been wanting to try their concealer and foundation for a while now. The powder wasn't necessary but I didn't want to pay for shipping so might as well get something I would like to try in the future as well. I'm really glad I did... the foundation and powder is AMAZING for OILY SKIN! =p

My shade is in White Peach (2nd lightest shade they have).

Healthy Skin Foundation (Full Coverage-Satin Finish) SPF 20
I'm not sure if this is full coverage... maybe medium to full because you can kind of build it but it does cover pretty well, evens out the skin tone (I only use a tiny tiny amount so I can't say much for the coverage). The one problem with this foundation is that it dries super quick once you start spreading it onto your face... I use my fingers and I literally have to drag some of the foundation on my face for it to spread. Otherwise I think it's fantastic and would definitely repurchase again because I'm surprised at how well it controls the oil on my face! =]

Nourishing Concealer SPF 20
Okay, I don't think this concealer is nourishing... it's alright >< it kind of sucks as an under eye concealer. People with dry skin should not use this because I have combination/oily skin and I find this drying... >> it doesn't work well with covering acne because it flakes. I like to use this after the foundation to just cover post acne marks. I wouldn't buy this concealer again ><

Foundation Powder SPF 20
I am really liking this powder, it controls oil extremely well and helps to even out the skin tone. This is kind of similar to my PUR Minerals 4 in 1 pressed powder but works MUCH better at controlling oil.

I put on my makeup around 10:30 this morning and I haven't had to touch up for 7 hours. My face is starting to look a tiny bit dewy now but it doesn't look greasy. I usually have to blot my face after coming home from a small errand ex. going to the bank, but I didn't have to do that at all today because my face just looked great =]

I went to Shoppers to pick up a new dry shampoo because I'm running out of my Batiste =] I picked up the Orgnx Hair Reviver (made in Canada!!! =p) and was on sale for $8.49 (save $2) =] I haven't tried this out yet. It's not a powder but a liquid spray that works similar to a dry shampoo. It contains brown rice and moringa (plant) and is also natural. PLUS, a tree is planted with every purchase <3 smells nice too =] a bit too strong for my nose but that's because I took a sniff out of the bottle itself >>

new haircut, yay =]

Even though you can't even see it properly... =p

I finally had the chance to wear my black ankle boots with my awesome new leather/denim jeans? lol I'm not sure what you would call them. I got home after my new haircut and my parents were like, "you cut your hair? it looks the same" and I'm like "what!? I cut 5-6 inches off... o.o"

how can my hair look the same!? -.-

I also added 2 new wallpapers =] I made the 2nd one today.

Loose Button #02

Items in the box (left to right):
- Principessa Ultimate Softening Shampoo & Conditioner
- Clinique Different Lipstick (Raspberry Glaze)
- Clinique High Impact Mascara
- Lancome Juicy Tube (Raspberry Ice)

I must say... I'm kind of disappointed with this one >< I don't think I will order another box because well... I'm not sure why I did in the first place >< I'm not that into makeup to begin with... more interested in skincare ><

The only thing I like from this box is the Juicy Tube lip gloss, it looks more pink in person and is a very cute colour. The lipstick is nice, applies like a lip balm and at first, I wasn't so sure about the colour... not something I would gravitate towards, but I did try it on and it doesn't look bad =] don't think I want to keep it though ><

I'm wearing the lipstick in this photo =]

As for the shampoo and conditioner, I'm kind of excited to try them out but I'm going to save them for when I travel in the summer =] hopefully... I will get to travel >>

I do plan on ordering one for the month of my birthday though... which will be in 7.5 months lol

wavy hair

Well now I know where to get my haircut next time =] I asked to get my haircut 2.5 inches shorter but I think I should have asked for 4 inches instead =p lol I'm going to go again in June to get my hair cut 3 inches shorter... just in time for summer =] The girl was so nice, she blew dry my hair and made it wavy and voluminous =p very lovely. The salon is called The Cut Above =]

fish braid attempt

My first attempt at the fish braid >> kind of loose and not so perfect but happy with how it looked overall =p I took out the elastics and the fish braid stayed intact =p yay... not for long though >>

I'm supposed to go get a haircut tomorrow but I am honestly freaking scared lol >> I usually get my hair cut by this guy but I decided to try a new salon... I honestly hope it works out >< I would be so devastated if I didn't like the result =[ I don't want to cut my hair but I have to because it's getting quite long >< decisions decisions >< I am so nervous right now =[ don't think I can even sleep >>
